With over 1.35 Million subscribers on YouTube and 80k fans on Facebook The Big Lez Show has clocked more than 105M views online. The initial episode was uploaded on YouTube and the show quickly gained popularity and developed a large cult following with each episode averaging 1-2M views.
The crude Australian comedy has loyal fans worldwide, with 40% watching from the UK, 30% from Australia and the remaining 30% tuning in from the US, New Zealand and Canada
The Big Lez Show is notable for its extremely low production value with Jarrad using stop motion animation, where the individual frames are drawn in Microsoft Paint. Frames are edited together on Adobe Premiere and the audio is recorded on Audacity. The show employs no outside personnel; Jarrad takes on all aspects of production including (but not limited to) writing, voice acting, animation, editing, music and distribution.
In 2016 after seeing the success of The Big Lez Show, Comedy Central commissioned Jarrad to create a 5 episode, spin-off series developed around popular character Mike Nolan, the aptly named Mike Nolan Show and in 2019 Jarrad independently release the second season Mike Nolan’s Long Weekend which pulled in 5x as many views on the premiere date and is currently sitting on over 3.5M views.
